Multiple Injured as Rough Air Hits A Delta Airlines Plane into Sydney
Multiple passengers and crew have been injured following a Delta Airlines aircraft originating in Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia encountered rough air on Friday morning.
Flight DL41 "encountered brief turbulence" as it touched down at Sydney Airport, a representative for the carrier told. Several cabin crew members sustained injuries.
Local paramedics stated they treated five individuals, and took a trio to the hospital with relatively minor issues that comprised spinal discomfort and headaches. Those affected ranged from their 30s up to the 70s.
It is the newest example of commercial jets being hit by atmospheric disturbance, with researchers indicating that global warming is a major factor.
On board were nearly 250 travelers and 15 crew members on the Airbus A350, the Delta spokesperson noted, clarifying that the plane arrived "safely and normally" at the airport at shortly before 7 a.m. on Friday.
Paramedics indicated they received a call just only 180 seconds ahead of the plane landed, and emergency vehicles were waiting on the tarmac.
